I don't like doomscrolling anymore.
It's not even funny. I'm not forcing myself to stop using my phone, like an addict tells himself “this will be the last time”. Intuitively I don't enjoy doomscrolling.
Not a drug or a guilty pleasure for me: I just don't like it anymore. I find the memes funny and all but 99% of the content seems pointless and it just throws me off. And even if I get 5 fox reels, 3 dog reels and 6 funny memes in a row I literally don't want to keep scrolling.
Literally like playing a bad video game. And, again, I literally like the memes, I just don't like doomscrolling instintively.
You know you once were a child and loved going to the park and, at one point, started to enjoy other things? That, but with doomscrolling.
How?
Good question! I'll try my best to help, but I'm unsure.
I started following the “close.ig.hourly” and “close.ig.daily” and others like arcstrive, hudsonfilms, etc. so maybe you should find something you actually enjoy?
Also, I bought Mini Metro recently. Which, btw, pisses me off if I lose so I stop playing it for a while.
I still use X (fka Twitter) tho, but just like watching documentaries at least I learn things. Maybe I crave learning for now?
So, yeah. Find something else to do that scratches your itch: even if it implies making a new social media account and following new communities and people.
Which, btw, I wholeheartedly recommend doing that. Maybe you find your place in r/Woodworking or r/Sideprojects or whatever. I dunno. Try things. Live your life.
Chase real dopamine, like those motivational accounts tell you.
